Saudi Arabia — Umrah Trip Plan — 5-Day Itinerary
Saudi Arabia🗓️ Best season: Year-round; November to February is the most comfortable — Ramadan is the busiest and priciest
🛂 Visa from Pakistan: Umrah visa through a travel operator approved by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah — then book your Umrah permit and the Rawdah visit in the official Nusuk app. A Saudi tourist eVisa is NOT open to Pakistani passports, and the tourist Package Visa does NOT allow travel to Makkah or Madinah — never buy it for Umrah.
🌍 From other countries: Many nationalities can use the Saudi tourist eVisa, which also permits Umrah outside the Hajj season. Rules differ by passport — check the official Visit Saudi and Nusuk pages for yours.
The Umrah journey, planned properly: Makkah first, then Madinah — with the official visa route and every step in order.
🌡️ Live weather: loading…
Route: Direct flights to Jeddah from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Multan, and to Madinah from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad — Saudia, PIA, Airblue, flynas and AirSial. Makkah is about 1–1.5 hours from Jeddah airport, or take the Haramain train.
- Day 1: Arrive in Jeddah and transfer to Makkah. Enter ihram at the Miqat — for Jeddah arrivals this is before landing — make your intention and begin the Talbiyah
- Day 2: Perform Umrah in Makkah: Tawaf — 7 circuits of the Kaaba; pray 2 rak'ahs (behind Maqam Ibrahim if possible) and drink Zamzam; then Sa'i — 7 lengths between Safa and Marwah; finish with Halq/Taqsir (men shave or shorten their hair; women trim a fingertip's length). Umrah is complete. Book the permit slot in the Nusuk app where required
- Day 3: Makkah days: prayers in Masjid al-Haram and optional extra tawaf. Ziyarat: Jabal al-Noor (Cave Hira), Jabal Thawr, Jannat al-Mu'alla, and Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah on a ziyarat tour
- Day 4: Travel to Madinah (Haramain high-speed train, about 2 hours, or by road). Prayers in Masjid an-Nabawi; give salam at the Prophet's chamber; visit the Rawdah by Nusuk appointment
- Day 5: Madinah ziyarat: Masjid Quba, Masjid al-Qiblatain, Mount Uhud and the martyrs' graves, Jannat al-Baqi. Depart from Madinah, or return via Jeddah
What to carry & what you need:
- Meningitis (ACWY) vaccination at least 10 days before travel, and a polio dose — both required for Umrah travellers from Pakistan; carry the certificates
- Passport valid 6+ months, Umrah visa print, return ticket and hotel bookings for both cities
- The Nusuk app on your phone, with a data SIM (STC, Mobily or Zain at the airport) — permits and Rawdah bookings run through it
- Men's ihram: two unstitched white cloths, a belt pouch and sandals; unscented toiletries while in ihram
- A small drawstring shoe bag and comfortable walking sandals
- Saudi riyals in cash for taxis and small vendors — cards and Apple Pay work widely in hotels and malls
- A light jacket for Madinah evenings (November–February)

Note: Four to five days is a compressed Umrah — most travellers take 7–10 days or more (Pakistani packages often run 11–21 days). Around the Hajj season, Umrah visas pause — check the Nusuk and Ministry channels before paying any operator.
