How to Apply for Government Jobs in Pakistan — Beginners Guide

New to government jobs? Almost every federal government job in Pakistan is applied for the same way — through the National Job Portal (njp.gov.pk). Follow these steps once, and every card below becomes easy. Each job card also has its own short "How to apply" steps.

Step 1 — Create your account on the National Job Portal. Go to njp.gov.pk and sign up with your CNIC, mobile number and email. It is free.
Step 2 — Complete your profile. Fill in your personal details, education and experience carefully — departments shortlist from this profile.
Step 3 — Keep your documents ready. CNIC, a recent photograph, and your degrees/certificates — keep clear scanned copies on your phone or computer.
Step 4 — Open the job you want and read its full advertisement. Check the education, age, domicile and experience it asks for before applying.
Step 5 — Apply online on the official portal/website only (for most federal jobs, that is NJP), and save your tracking / application ID.
Step 6 — Prepare for the written test. Shortlisted candidates are called for a test — your roll number slip appears on the same portal/website.

🌱 For Beginners — Start From Zero

If you know nothing about scholarships yet, start here — this is the honest beginner's path:

Keep your marks strong. Most fully funded scholarships need good academic results — your grades are the foundation of everything.
Make your passport first. You cannot apply abroad without one — apply for it early, before any round opens.
Collect and attest your documents. CNIC, degrees and transcripts attested by your board/university; degrees usually need HEC attestation when applying abroad.
Prepare for an English test (IELTS/TOEFL) if your programme asks for one. Honestly: some programmes — Türkiye Burslari, CSC (China) and Stipendium Hungaricum among them — often do not require IELTS at the application stage. Always confirm on the official website.
Choose the right level. Most fully funded chances are for Bachelor, Master and PhD — very few exist right after Matric or Intermediate.
Watch for the yearly round. Applications usually open once a year (often somewhere between August and February, depending on the programme) — the exact dates are only on the official website.

Step 1 — Choose your scholarship and country from the cards below; pick the level (Bachelor, Master, PhD) that matches your last completed degree.
Step 2 — Check eligibility on the official website — marks/CGPA, age, nationality and subject rules are different for every programme.
Step 3 — Prepare your documents (see the checklist below) before the round opens.
Step 4 — Apply only through the official website's own application portal, before its deadline. Each card below explains that programme's own system.
Step 5 — Test / interview if shortlisted. Some programmes hold a written test or an English test; most hold an interview.
Step 6 — Result and visa. If selected, you receive an award/admission letter, then apply for the student visa of that country.
