Free Online Courses with Certificates
Many people never hear about this: top international universities and the world's biggest learning platforms put real courses online for free — and some of them give you a certificate for free too. Every card below links only to the provider's official website, and every card is honestly labelled, so you know before you start exactly what is free and what is not.
Free Course + Free Certificate

🟢 Certificate: FREE — the course and its certificate are both free.
Separate option: edX sells a verified certificate for this same course — that one is paid, and you do not need it for Harvard's free CS50 certificate.
freeCodeCamp — Free Certifications
Everything here is 100% free, including the certifications: Responsive Web Design, JavaScript, Python, data analysis, machine learning and more. Each certification is project-based and takes roughly 300 hours of practice.

Honest detail: a statement of participation proves you completed the course — it is not a degree and carries no formal credit.
Top University Courses — Free to Learn (Certificate Paid or by Financial Aid)
On these two platforms the learning itself is free on many courses — but the certificate is not free. They are listed separately so nobody is misled.
edX
Courses from Harvard, MIT and other top universities. On many courses the audit track lets you learn the full course without paying.
🟡 Free to learn — learning is free, but the certificate is paid or needs approved financial aid.
Coursera
University courses from Stanford, Yale and the University of Michigan, plus career certificates from Google, IBM and Meta. Many courses can be started free.
🟡 Free to learn — learning is free, but the certificate is paid or needs approved financial aid.
How Financial Aid Works (Coursera)
Open the course page on Coursera and choose the Financial Aid option near the enrol button. Fill in the short application honestly, submit it, and wait for approval — it can take about two weeks — before starting the paid part of the course. If approved, the certificate is covered. The application itself is free on Coursera — never pay any agent to "arrange" aid for you.
Bonus for Pakistan — A Free National Programme
DigiSkills.pk — Free Training for Pakistan
Pakistan's own national free training programme, run by the Virtual University: free courses in freelancing, digital marketing, graphic design, WordPress, video editing and more — with a free certificate when you complete your course.
🟢 Certificate: FREE — the course and its certificate are both free.
Enrolment opens in batches during the year — check the official website for the current batch.
PakRoz lists these courses for guidance only. What is free — and what a certificate costs — is decided by each provider and can change; the official page linked on each card is always the final word. A certificate proves you learned the skill; pair it with practice and it becomes a strong line on your CV.
